Church Under the Bridge: June 26

June 17, 2011

You’ve read the Bible. So you know about Jesus and the kind of life He lived on this earth. You’ve read about how He overcame temptation and was without sin. You’ve read about His teachings. You’ve read about His miracles: how He turned water to wine, how He healed a woman who bled for 12 years with just a touch of His garment, how He healed a man who was crippled for 38 years, how He multiplied food to provide, and even forgave sins. But do you keep in mind that THIS is the same Jesus who lives in YOU? Paul writes in Hebrews 13.8 that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” The God we serve today is the same God we read about. He still teaches, He still heals, He still forgives.

So as we plan to gather downtown next weekend, let’s remember that this God lives inside of us. Some situations we face in our own lives or in the lives of people we meet downtown seem impossible. In Mark 10.27 Jesus said, “‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.'”  In our own strength, we can do nothing. In our own strength we can bring nothing of value downtown. In our own strength we won’t make any real impact. Indeed we face situations that are hopeless and impossible with MAN. “But not with God; ALL things are possible with God!”

Following is our schedule, planned meal, and information regarding general needs for Sunday, June 26:
