Moved with Compassion

March 13, 2011

We were blessed to be able to share about Church under the Bridge at New Life Foursquare again this weekend.  We were able to give an update about the overwhelming response we’ve had with the bin system, and how the church’s generosity has allowed us to give backpacks, sleeping bags, tarps, water, food, and much more each month under the bridge.  We had a great response this weekend, with many stopping by the table for information.  We hope to see some of those faces downtown with us soon!

In Mark 1:40-41, it says that “a man with leprosy came to [Jesus] and begged him on his knees, ‘If you are willing, you can make me clean.’ Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, ‘I am willing, be cleansed.’” This image of Jesus stretching his hand out to touch one life is also a wonderful picture of what this ministry is: individuals being moved with compassion for people who are in need of Jesus’ touch.

We will be posting again this week with detailed information about our next gathering on Sunday, March 27.  You can find the event page also on Facebook where you can rsvp here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=161590657227651

Also, check out the “pictures & video” link above where we have posted many new photos from our February gathering!

God bless you,
Mark and Kristen

Praise God Kristen for your testimony this past weekend at New Life! We are so thankful to be given the privilege of co-laboring for Christ with you & Mark through Church Under the Bridge.
